THE PICKET FENCE FAMILY

It was earlier than I wake most mornings - somewhere in the five o clocks. I was prepping for a drive three hours south and I knew I’d be gone the whole day. I’d be seeing a place I’d never been and meeting people I had never known.

Kesh stirred just five minutes before I had to leave and sleepily asked if I wanted her to come. I don’t know how, in that sleepy state, she knew that I wanted her with me that day but I’m grateful she did.

We loaded Troop in the car and headed South.

As soon as we pulled into Ava’s street, I knew which house was her home. The purple one. Through emails, I had gained an insight into Ava and her family. The purple home had to be hers.

A beautiful family with a home so detailed, you really should pay an admission fee. Seriously (I’ll be showing more of Ava’s home in the next few days).

The Picket Fence Family live life beautifully. It’s full of things long forgotten. Not just on the walls but in their hearts.

  1. What makes a house beautiful is the people inside it's walls. I think our house shone more brightly because you came to visit and stepped inside. Thank you for your beautiful photo's but more so , Thank you for being so gently supportive, polite and all round lovely to have around xx Ava

  3. Hello Tim, I have been following Ava and her lovely blog for a short while now. From the little I know of her, I would say your words are true. You did a wonderful job, both in your photograps, the way they captured that family's spirit, and in your most beautiful words.I am very touched, love Linda x
