SEE YOU IN EUROPE

It's time to get our passports stamped a whole bunch. We're hours away from heading to London, Oslo, Paris, Biarritz, across the coast of France into Florence, Rome, the Amalfi Coast and then back to London before heading down to Devon (love the name of that place).

I'm ready for this adventure to begin. Past ready, even. I've been working like a mad man this past year and I just wanna be with my family. I'm shooting and workshopping a bunch but mostly, I'm going to be taking photos of Kesh and Roo, seeing new places and eating heaps of awesome food.

In other (crazy) news, Roo is one in three days. On Saturday, I drove to the same place I took photos of these guys on Roo's due date. My beautiful friend, Luisa, has an awesome project she's pouring her heart into and asked me to shoot and write as part of it. Luisa's already made her selections and these are the leftovers.

I prepped the images a day later and showed Kesh before we went to bed on Sunday night. I think the looming trip, coupled with the location being super significant to us and then Roo approaching his first birthday hit Kesh pretty hard. She cried real tears and held my arm. It was a really special experience for us. Maybe for the first time I had an insight into what it might be like when my clients see their images for the first time.

See you guys in Europe.

  10. {7th image down} is SO FULL.
A year ago, I remember you both being so full of wondering at what it would be like to hold your baby in your arms.
And now, this - a reactive, giggling, squirming and completely huggable one year old boy!
Happiest of birthdays, Roo. And congratulations on your first year of parenthood T and K

Ah Biarritz. It was the place that Jason took me to on our first holiday together. Magical and if you have time, try and make the short drive to San Sebastian in Spain.

  19. It must be such a gift to be able to photograph your life like this, it's amazing how much sentiment you can convey. No wonder your wife was hit with how profound it all is - you must be giving that feeling to your clients every time you work!

Roo's sweater is so cool by the way, I'd like one.
Safe journey round Europe. Devon is beautiful, nip across to Cornwall if you get the chance - there's a little village called Polperro there that is really quaint and English. It has a harbour where local cats mill around, a family-run restaurant called the House on the Props & a good English pub called the Blue Peter Inn on the shore. There's a little cave you can play in when the tide is out, it's a great little beach for a one year old and you'd get some great photos there. My parents took me and my brothers ever single summer!

You will love Devon. I think it's one of the loveliest places on earth; so lovely, we were married there in an art deco hotel on an island.

  35. Fantastic post, thanks for sharing. Your wedding photographer should be knowledgeable and helpful. They should offer suggestions about options you have for different things, provide advice on scheduling and setup, be full of ideas, and be ready to make your day and your planning easier. A good photographer is big on planning. Your photographer should work with you before an engagement session to select clothing and location. Your wedding day photography should be scheduled as part of your day rather than as an afterthought. Photography does not have to be inconvenient - it can be a fun and integral part of your day.Best Adelaide Weddings Information

Wedding photographers provide you the options of the type of albums you want, the framing, reprints, and proof images so you have the choice of selecting what appeals to you best. Whatever your preference, talk to your photographer about your expectations and never hesitate to discuss the percentage of pictures and the pricing.
