Work Half Your Life?

Humans live for around eighty years or so. Ninety if you're super healthy. Of those eighty or ninety, you'll work for around forty years, probably more. That means half your life will be spent working.

After about five years, I realised that what I was doing wasn't going to cut it for another forty. I didn't want to go to work everyday feeling unfulfilled, cos, that's how I felt. It was like the job I did, anyone could do and at the same time it did nothing for me.

I've said it before, but I feel that everyone has something they are meant to be doing. Something that they have been gifted with - a talent if you want to call it that.

I quit my job almost six months ago. Friday will be my first official wedding gig and I can't wait. You know why? 'Cos I'd want to do it even if I wasn't getting a cent.

Kesh and I went out into the cold and wind last night to take photos. That's how we roll...

  1. wod up my brother
    I upload all my photos individually to flickr (after resizing them to 900x600) because i dont like what blogspot does with frames.. i then go to the social networking bar thing (on flickr) and 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', the Medium 640 one, but I take out the a href so the photo is no longer linked to flickr.

  2. I wasnt a fan of the massive gaps either, and found that photoshop layouts started to really take a toll on my time, and then the blogspots resizing issue got annoying. so instead i spent a few hours hacking away at the html, where I figured out all gutter sizes are directly editable. Go to 'edit html' and look for
    Variable name="image.border.small.size"
    then change both the default and value of the small and large borders to whatever you want and hopefully thatll make it nicer. Mine are at 0.1px at the moment.

  3. And then theres the issue of shadow around each individual photo- if you want to get rid of those, go to the html section again and get rid of or alter if you like it:
    moz-box-shadow: 1px 1px 5px rgba(0, 0, 0, .1);
    webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 5px rgba(0, 0, 0, .1);
    box-shadow: 1px 1px 5px rgba(0, 0, 0, .1);
