IS THERE SOMETHING YOU WANTED TO ASK ME?

I remember when I was working in this job that I hated and I was thinking more seriously about photography. In reality, I was thinking more seriously about anything that would get me out of that job. I felt like photography wasn't viable. It was like saying I wanted to be an actor, or singer.

I had a Canon 1000D and the kit lenses that it came with. I'd owned it a year or more and hadn't really shot anything with it. What I had shot was on automatic and looked...bad. I didn't know what I was doing. I had questions...

I decided to email my wedding photographer to ask him what lens I should buy to help me improve.

Jonas was gracious enough to email me back with his opinion and some insights that helped me out. At a guess, I would say Jonas has been asked that question quite literally thousands of times. And it's his least favourite question.

I don't consider myself an expert. I don't feel like I know everything there is to know, or even a little. I feel like I've just stepped off the ground and I'm on that first rung of the ladder.

Having said that, people email and Facebook me questions about photography and setting up a business. I am more than happy to answer them. I love helping in any way I can.

I've started an account on this thing called Formspring. Basically, you ask questions and I answer them. That way, everyone can see the answers. Sharing is caring.

  6. Have already asked a few! Love reading your responses and am so thankful that you're out there and willing to help. As a young photographer, it's definitely easy to get overlooked, especially when asking questions. Grateful for this! :)
