ROO | 2 WEEKS

I knew she would go and that's why I hesitated.

We met during the winter time, in a room I still remember. There were tables filled with party pies and watermelon. And she just stood there, shining, in a sea of people I knew and people I didn't.

In her track pants, I noticed her first.

Kesh fell quickly, in love. I fearfully avoided it. I knew what was to come...

Less than two months after we met, Kesh flew to Canada. It would be her new home for a year and a half.

She left, not really wanting to and I let her go, not really wanting her gone. Within days, the realisation of life without her fell upon me.

I will never be without her again. And now, we have Roo and together we will be.

*

Roo is two weeks old in these images. We took these photos, while staying at Kesh's parents home. Their intention was to be used for Kesh to tell her story of the birth of Roo. The words don't come easily but when they do - she will write them for you. And when she does, I'll take more photos for you.

  21. Oh, and Kesh...it took me a couple of months to post our birth story. I couldn't find the right words. How to explain what happened, what I felt and how I felt. I wanted to get it right. I wrote it, changed it and re-wrote it for so long. But it was worth it. So take your time, the words will come. Much love Mama xx
