THE MATERNITY SERIES | A SUMMARY

It's always been Kesh. People say that you just know - I always thought that was silly. How can you just know? It's not possible to feel something like that. But when she left my life, I knew. It was strong and it was the most real thing I've ever felt, ever.

Since then, it's always been us. Me and her. Together. Everywhere we go, I take Kesh. And now, we take Roo. He comes with us too. We are a family, with eternal bonds and connections beyond this life.

It's feels a little strange, knowing the maternity series has finished. Today, I went through each of the blogs and selected an image from every week - hoping to summarise Kesh's pregnancy.

I just wanted to make special mention of the song on the slideshow. It was written and performed by one of Kesh's most favourite artists - Sarah Humphreys. Early on in the series, Sarah emailed Kesh to let her know this song might have extra meaning for us now - she was right. We played it all through the pregnancy and during the birth.

'As You Unfold' by Sarah Humphreys on iTunes here.

I also wanted to thank American Apparel for being so amazing and supplying the clothes Kesh wore every single week. We are really grateful.

And most importantly, I'm grateful to you for reading along with us. My blog will always be personal. All I want to do is connect with people on an emotional level through my photos and my family.

  7. Oh, Tim, this is beyond beautiful. I adore the bond you and your family have, it's so sincere and genuine and wonderful. This totally made me cry! But in a good way, of course. Kesh is completely stunning (and as an aside has the best eyebrows ever...) and I simply loved it. Congratulations on your perfect little bundle of joy, Roo, and your ongoing love for each other. *warm fuzzies!*

  8. This brought tears to my eyes - and I'm not usually a cry-er. Maybe it's because I felt like I've been there - or a least following along since the beginning... So beautifully put together Tim. Lots of love to the three of you x

  9. So beautiful.
It will be amazing for you all as a family to play that video over and over again and to remember that special time.
It is so true too about just knowing. I felt that when I met my husband. And then again when I found out I was pregnant. Both times I just knew that it was right.

  10. Jude and I watched this this morning, i hugged him close and cried happy tears for you both and for all of us parents.
I asked Jude what he wanted to say to you, Jude says 'that tummy is not big enough yet' - i'm not quite sure what that means. But ohhhh kay!

Thank you for using my song, it means the world to me that it is special to you both.

Kesh is just so beautiful in every way.

    Big hugs and big smiles.

  13. Sarah is a beautiful muma and one of the best singer/song writers I have ever heard. I watched her unfold during her pregnancy and this song so aptly captures the journey; of growth and love and newness.

I don't think I've ever noticed the very masculine style of your photography as much as I did just now; strange in that you have captured ultimate femininity. It's the most wonderful perspective and the most precious of stories.

It's perfect, really. And it's only just begun.

    1. I couldn't have done it without you, Jodi :) x
(Well not nearly as peacefully anyway! Jude still loves the sound of those 'yoga bells' and he does a wonderful downward dog which he calls 'yoga pose' i'm pretty sure he was listening in there.)
