KATE AND SIMON

'Just make sure you're back in time for my wedding,' Kate joked with me over email. I'd just told her the itinerary for our trip to the States and we both realised we had no room for delays or cancellations.

We flew home from Utah two days before Kate and Simon's wedding in McLaren Vale and the next day, with our body's still adjusting to the new time zone, we boarded our plane to Adelaide. We were properly tired but I was so grateful to be shooting again. We checked into our hotel and Kesh and Roo slept - immediately.

Kate's a wedding photographer - a really gifted one. She works on personal photography projects that are way cooler than mine and outside of her natural talents, she's one of the happiest people I've met. Simon designs buildings, working as an architect. He's super passionate about the outdoors. He climbs rocks (and harnessed me to the side of one on the morning of the wedding) and rides his bike all over the world.

I'm so grateful for the trust both Kate and Simon put in me. Wedding photos are a big deal and that's the way I treat them. When I shoot, I think about how I want these photos to be hanging on your walls for your whole life. The same way my Nan and Pop's wedding photos still hang on their walls - sixty two years after they were married.

  7. This is EXACTLY what we wanted when we looked at your blog so many months ago and thought "He's the man for us". We are just so HAPPY you could make it - we're sorry you had to come back from all that glorious snow but we couldn't imagine anyone else being there behind the camera when we were in front. These will hang on our wall for years and years and exist not only in frames and on pages of an album, but in our hearts for as long as we both shall live. Thank you, Tim. And thank you to Kesh & Roo for sharing you with us for such a long day. I think you captured our families so well because yours is so precious too xx

  24. Hey Tim. I have a lot of faith in my daughters judgement and these comments I am reading above just serve to cement that faith.
As for me, I think Kate chose the right photographer, and that photographer did an absolutely fantastic job of capturing the day. It was one of the most proud moments of my life to give Kate away to Simon, and every time I look at the pictures, I get a small leak at the corner of each eye.
Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of it for Kate and Simon; not to mention all the other participants.
    Cheers.

  32. Really mind blowing post, thanks for sharing. Is it true that you are shooting more than my wedding on my big day? Continuously check whether your picture taker shoots in excess of one wedding during multi day, or keeps to a one wedding for each day strategy. It takes a huge measure of vitality to report a wedding great, and their consideration ought not be put between two distinct occasions. You need your picture taker concentrated on making lovely pictures of your day, not on how they are getting to their next shoot.Best Adelaide Hills Portrait Photographer Service
